Whoever said that sticks and stones can break our bones but words can never hurt you was a complete nincomepoop (yes, I had to spell that phonetically :) ). Today Donna discusses her actions to protect her work as an author and ensure that the message of her book is heard.Yep! 56 days and she's still making this happen!
I tell the authors that I work with that just because you write it, does not mean that others will read it. That seems pretty harsh, but just think of the countless numbers of publications in this world! Marketing is reality and is crucial for authors to understand.
In my book, How to Write and Publish a Book in 30 Days, we cover not only the game plan to write the chapters, but we also go into marketing, design, and so much more.
Donna has an important story that she believes will help many people. Her marketing tactics, are they so far from traditional? I'd challenge you to really think about advertisements you see. HOW do they get your attention in the myriad of ads? Donna seems to have figured this out and has got some attention!
Yesterday was a tough day for Donna, but understanding that life is like a pulse, with ups and downs, the goal is to not flat line. In today's episode, Donna discusses her motivation and perseverance toward her goal.
When we question our why. Today Donna struggles with her new reality - that her story- the one she was so compelled to tell, that would help others, will be out there for the world to see. A real struggle when you are a voice- vulnerability!
Nobody said writing a book would be easy, but it is possible. With the steps laid out in How to Write and Publish a Book in 30 Days, prospective authors are not left to figure out the maze of how and what to do next on their own. I have provided guidance on when and how.
Donna is at the end of her journey - I'd have to say this is the most difficult part of the whole thing. Why? Because you get feedback on your heart and soul - whether it's fiction or non-fiction - as a writer, it's a part of you! Combine that with all the "i"s that need to be dotted and "t"s that need to be crossed - getting the cover designed and the manuscript edited and finalized. There are a lot of pieces.
Regardless of how frustrating the process, especially the end, with all the tasks that need to be done, Power Woman is showing her might! I hope you are enjoying Donna's day-by-day video journal of her experience - and that you too will find the courage to push out of your comfort zone and achieve your dreams.
Don't watch the clock; do what it does - keep going! Back from a well-deserved vacation. Power Woman is back and on task to get her book completed. It's been a while. She's not out Black Friday shopping. Instead she is getting stuff done!
When you get this close to achieving your dream, it becomes so real that you begin to live it. If you have been following this journey from the beginning, you know that there were times where giving up seemed to be an option. Even with 2 chapters to go and 1 more day of a 30 day journey Donna feels like a success! She has truly learned through this process the true meaning of a successful mindset!
It's crazy as we get towards the fulfillment of our dream, how all of a sudden we can 'feel' it and envision it fully - it's like all of a sudden what we hoped more than we believed takes root as a belief and then becomes real. This happens for Donna today... check it out!
Most of us have set out with great intentions to achieve a goal, yet a few days or weeks in a monkey wrench got thrown into the mix and we altered our path and eventually gave up on the goal. Motivation is something that has to be worked at. It's a choice of focused thought on the end goal - but more importantly it requires focus on the 'why' behind the goal.
Today Power Woman talks about doing it all - monkey wrenches and all - and how she keeps going.
In the book, How to Write a Book and Publish in 30 Days, I explain to my budding authors that they will find so many people that say that they are writing a book. When you inquire farther and ask how long they have been writing, it's usually years. That's because they have a goal without a plan, which isn't really a goal, it's just an idea. They keep playing with this idea, but it never fully comes to fruition.
Donna Fields, Power Woman, has been diligently executing her plan, that is laid out in the book. She's now on Day 26 and years ahead of most people that have been playing with the idea of writing a book. Listen to what she has going on with her book.
How to Write and Publish a Book doesn't just give you day by day instructions for getting the writing portion completed, but also all of the daily activities to get your book published. Have a listen ya'll!
